A Tea for Liver and Skin Health...Made from a "Weed" in Your Backyard!
Dandelion and rose tea 🌼
Contrary to popular belief, dandelions are magical, medicinal herbs hosting energies that support our livers, preventing cancer, clearing skin conditions like eczema and acne, relieving PMS symptoms, lowering cholesterol, boosting mood, and so much more. So funny that Western medicine still looks at dandelions as weeds with zero health benefits!
To make a simple dandelion tea, collect your flowers (graciously, of course!), rinse, and steep in hot water for 5-8 minutes with lemon and sweetener of choice (I used maple syrup). Strain and enjoy.🍵
When I’m just beginning to get to know a plant on a deeper level, I love finding accessible, simple recipes like this. There is so much more we can do with dandelions, and we can even use every part of them including the stems and roots, but just a simple cup of tea is enough to bring some of the dandelion’s wild, untamed energy into our Selves. When I feel stuck, I look to the outside world, to what is most accessible to me now, and bring some of that into my inside world. Even in NYC where I live, the streets are lined with allies, if we just open our eyes and hearts to them.
